So last night was one of those annoying nights on passage that makes you want to just land somewhere and never go out to sea again. Okay, it wasn’t really that bad, but I may have felt that way at 11pm when I had not slept due to the wild washing machine sea state and I knew that I had to be on watch until 4:30am or so. Once I was on duty for a while I felt much better and was happily wishing I could finish my podcast when Cameron woke and came above decks to relieve me. There is a ton of wind flowing off shore from Mexico called the Tehuantepec s which are causing some extra swell and some brisk winds. Download the WindyTV app if you want to see the live action. We reefed (decreased sail) and just put up with bracing ourselves between the bulkheads and listening to everything in the cupboards flying from one side to the other. These days are just part of the package and as compared to some of our days in the Sea of Cortez and down the coast of California, it didn’t even really rank. Today is a new day and we have just surpassed our record for longest passage yet on Banyan. I just pulled some cookies out of the oven, the girls are creating a full on world with their magnatiles, clay and other implements of imagination on the salon table and Cameron just finished dealing with the very initially exciting but anticlimactic catching of a bulap bag… not the Mahi Mahi we were hoping for. The soundtrack of our passage seems to be the soundtrack of the movie, The Greatest Showman. This album never ceases to elicit dancing and really silly lip sinking when we need a boost. I have put a limit on playing it only once a day so we don’t get totally sick of it…maybe twice. While I can’t see your comments made to our posts, I do see the names of the people who are leaving comments. It makes me feel so good to see your names and know that people are thinking of us on our journey! Thanks for all the wonderful support from friends, family and beyond. Your prayers and kindness caries us far! We’ll reply to comments when we get into the Marquesas. This is SV Banyan, signing off

Hang in there! You’ll figure how to stash your cupboards so they’re not so noisily chaotic after a few more of those tumbling seas episodes. Wait till you get to the doldrums of the equator for some respite! Thanks for sharing your journey with us!
